London prices are the only climbers

The only region in the UK witnessing house price rises is Greater London, new research has revealed. According to LSL's latest house price index, prices across the country have begun a downward spiral again and on average saw a 3% fall in Q2 this year. This fall has cancelled out any rises over the last year. However, the capital city has continued climbing. In the last four years London prices have seen an increase of 5.6%. The index also showed homeowners who bought a property between 2007 and 2011 are more likely to find themselves in negative equity than those that bought in 2006.
